Because every SCANDALINEN piece is already cut and sewn to order in our workshop, making it to your measurements instead of a standard chart is something we do all the time. Here's how it works.
Who actually needs custom size bedding
- Caravan and motorhome owners — island beds, cut-corner mattresses and club lounges rarely match any retail size.
- European bed frames in Australia — an IKEA king (160 × 200 cm) is not an Australian king (183 × 203 cm). Standard AU fitted sheets sag on them.
- Deep or thin mattresses — pillow-tops over 35 cm, or thin Japanese-style futons where standard pockets bunch up.
- Odd pillows and bolsters — European squares, body pillows, bassinet and cot sizes.
What we can make to measure
Fitted sheets (any width, length and pocket depth), flat sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases and full bedding sets — in the same 100% European flax, stonewashed, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified linen as our standard range, in 50+ colors.
How to measure (2 minutes, 3 numbers)
For a fitted sheet: width, length, and depth of the mattress — measured with bedding compressed the way you actually sleep on it. For duvet covers: measure the duvet insert, not the bed. Our Australian size guide has diagrams for every measurement.
How to order a custom size
Order the closest standard size and leave your exact measurements in the order notes at checkout — or message us first (email and WhatsApp are in the footer) and we'll confirm before you pay. Custom sizing is made to order like everything else we sew, so the timeline is the same as a standard order.

Does custom sizing cost extra?
For most dimensions it's priced the same as the nearest standard size — we confirm any difference before your order goes to the workshop.
Can you make sheets for caravan beds with cut corners?
Yes — send the shape and measurements and we'll cut to match.
Can you match European sizes like 160 × 200 or 180 × 200?
Yes, those are already in our standard size range for many products, along with AU, US and UK dimensions.
What if I measure wrong?
Message us before ordering and we'll sanity-check your numbers against your bed type.

Send us three numbers and we cut to them
Whatever the bed is — a caravan berth that tapers toward the front, a mattress nobody makes sheets for any more, a frame a joiner built into an alcove — the process is the same. Width × length × depth in centimetres, measured with the bed stripped and the topper included if you sleep on one, plus 5 cm added to the depth. That is everything we need. If you are unsure, photograph the tape on the mattress and we will check the numbers before anything is cut, at no cost.
Why we can do this when most suppliers cannot
- Nothing is pre-made. There is no warehouse of finished stock to interrupt, so a custom number is not a special request — it is the normal process.
- Wide-loom fabric. Woven 250–280 cm wide, so most oversized sheets come out in one piece with no seam down the middle of the bed.
- No minimum order. One custom fitted sheet is a real order. Most manufacturers need 50–500 pieces before they will cut a non-standard size.
- No surcharge and no extra wait. Same price as the nearest standard size, same 1–2 day make time, same 3–4 week tracked delivery.
